Nina Vaca received a proclamation from the State of New York presented by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Feb. 16 in Albany.
DiNapoli surprised Vaca with the honor after she gave a keynote speech at the New York State Common Retirement Fund’s 11th Annual Emerging Manager & Minority and Women Business Enterprises Conference.
The themes of the event were Charting a Unique Path and Celebrating Founders. Vaca spoke about how it can be daunting to be a founder or one of the few women or minorities in a boardroom, but that it’s up to everyone to harness their courage and take control of their destiny.
