On May 22, 2018, in her hometown of Dallas, Nina Vaca delivered the keynote address to recipients of the Inaugural Gates Scholarship.
The Gates Scholarship, administered by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, will send three hundred high achieving minority high school seniors from low-income backgrounds to colleges and universities across the country on full-ride scholarships. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides families with the knowledge and resources needed for students to complete higher education.
In her keynote, Nina Vaca shared with the scholarship recipients how she was the first in her family to go to college and reiterated to them that education is a lifelong journey.
